IPS wins the smarter E AWARD 2026 for Energy Storage

Munich, Germany – June 23, 2026 – International Power Supply (IPS) has been named a winner of the prestigious The smarter E AWARD 2026 in the Energy Storage category for its innovative EXERON CheckMate inverter.

The smarter E Award recognizes pioneering technologies and solutions that accelerate the transition toward a reliable, renewable, and climate-neutral energy system. Winners are selected by an independent international jury from among the industry’s most innovative products and projects. Back in 2014, IPS won the very first award for energy storage and 12 years later continues to be at the forefront of industry innovation.

EXERON CheckMate was recognized for introducing a new approach to utility-scale and commercial energy storage through its highly modular architecture, advanced design, and exceptional system availability.

Achieving a power density of 3.3 MW per cubic metre, its modular design ensures continuous operation even if one conversion unit fails, while its grid-forming capability delivers synthetic inertia with a power response time of under 5 microseconds - supporting grid stability in high-penetration renewable energy environments where conventional synchronous generation is in decline.
